We gathered with a small group of family, and friends who operated like family, at Villa Cesare for Jamie & Mikey's wedding day. We could tell how special each person in attendance was as Jamie introduced us to each bridesmaid in the getting ready room. We heard the stories of how they met Jamie, from cousins to friends made at Aurelio's pizza to comrades at work.
Just as special as the people they asked to stand by them were the details they chose. Jamie and her girls wore Vans inspired by one of her favorite movies,The Father of the Bride, and her great grandmother's pearl necklace, a family heirloom each of her cousins wear on their wedding day.
With such an intimate group present, we loved that we really got to know Jamie and Mikey's family and friends, and with fewer people their day was naturally slower. Instead of hurrying from thing to thing, they spent extra time just hanging with their loved ones. And with time to savor, the group got to soak in some beautiful moments that day. Like when Jamie put on her veil as she waited to marry her groom. Her grandma, mom, and Mikey's mom were standing in the corner of the room, tears streaming down each one of their faces as they watched their girl transform into a beautiful bride. Like the hour Mikey spent talking with his friends over a beer before sitting down to eat dinner with his wife. Like the moment Jamie laid her head on her dad's shoulder as they swayed to the music of their father daughter dance.
Jamie and Mikey, what a privilege it was to be invited into such an intimate circle of your family and friends. We loved hearing stories of your childhood, seeing you hug each other tight during your first look, watching you honor the loved ones who couldn't be present, and having the best time celebrating as husband and wife. Love and hugs, Becky & Kaleb.
Wedding photography is my heartbeat. I love capturing the interactions between the bride and her tribe as they get ready together, the look on a groom’s face when he FINALLY sees his bride for the first time, and the way a dad wraps his arms around his baby girl on her wedding day. Bride and groom portraits make my heart jump and I cry on almost every wedding day.
